By profession I am a corporate leader holding a position of a director of Regulatory Affairs and the Project Development and Management Director in a public listed Private Higher Education Institution in Malaysia. I have been in the Private Higher Education industry for about fifteen years now. Prior to this I was with the Insurance industry and Malaysian Airline System.
People around me always commented that I am a workaholic and the way I worked as if there is no tomorrow. But it never bothers me because that’s my nature as I always wanted to give my best in whatever I do. When I was diagnosed of a breast cancer in july 2009, it was a waking up call. I had a deep thought that if I were to die tomorrow what will happen to me? What have I prepared for my next life? What have I left for my children? What have I left for my legacy? I realize that I have less time than I think. At that time i felt that I can die anytime now and each day that I survive is a bonus to me. I must make full use and to seize every moment of it.
Of late I am suffering from a burnt out. My pressure level went up and my doctor advised me to slow down as this is not very good for my recovery process. It can cause a relapse as tension can aggravate the cancer cells. How it happened was that, I did my work as usual since i came back to work after i did the whole treatment of chemotheraphy and radiotheraphy. I pushed myself like a healthy person. That’s exactly what I wanted to think in the beginning i.e. to forget my sickness and to act normal but I guess I was overdoing it. My body could not cope. I could not run away from the fact that I am a cancer patient and in the process of recuperating. I am on hormone theraphy for the next 5 years . With my doctor’s advise and supported by my top management I took a 3 weeks leave and went for a hideout.
During this time I Met with Prof Dr Ahmad Lothfi Ibrahim known as cikgu introduced by my office collegue. With him I found something that I have been looking for all these years and that would help me to balance up my life. As a person I like to read. Many of the books I read are on personal development, leadership, financial and people management. To name a few, they are Anthony Robbins, Jack Canfield, Donald Trump, Bill Zanker, Albert J. Dunlap, W. Clement Stone, frank Bettger, Zig Ziglar, Robert Kiyosaki, Bob proctor, Tiger Wood and many others. As the saying goes “you are what you read” these people become my virtual gurus.
Through Dunlap I learned about focusing on the best and move at lightning speed. Clement Stone talks about the success system that never fails. With Tiger Wood we learn about his mental game and the power of concentration and imagination. Bob Proctor shared about a simple plan that will take us from where we are to where we want to be and the law of attraction. Jack Canfield shared the principles of success. I read the whole series of Robert kiyosaki, which my children enjoyed them as well but I advised them to follow the rich dad as they already have the poor dad. I enjoyed reading Donald Trump’s Think Big and Kick Ass because it represents the norm. Generally when you are weak people will bully you. You have to have certain principles in your life in order not to be bullied.
I followed their principles and make them my own. But something is missing. I feel that my life is not complete and there is a missing link. How can I relate the teaching of islam with the principles shared by these gurus? With the sharing of knowledge from Cikgu Lotfi, I found a way on how to bridge this gap. I found a new reality. The Knowledge that I preached is now will be supported by Science and AlQuran, the methaphysical in the thinking of Islam. Understanding the true reality that includes the relationship between mind over matter.
With that I am exposed to the true meaning of Rukun Iman and whats behind the 7 petala langit, 7 petala bumi and the whole universe. Understanding the true meaning of Qada’ and Qadar and the believe that everything that is happening in this world has been designed by the creator and we as human being are just the actor. According to Hamka teaching, the true meaning of being a good Muslim is to devote ourselves truly to god with keinsafan by reciting the kalimah syahadat.
I am very excited to learn and explore this new reality. As a practitioner of knowledge sharing i will share with everyone who are interested in this area for our mutual benefit. I am a true beleiver of "knowledge is power" therefore we should share with as many as possible to make it more meaningful and beneficial.
Cikgu Lotfi has shared with me the metaphysical thinking of Islam through pyra energy and the pyramid, and the use of mind power in our everyday lives. By understanding the meaning and purpose of life, and the law of the universe we are able to experience abundance in many areas of life, be it health, wealth or happiness.
